A research project has an end date. The value of its results does not. Bringing that value to life beyond the lab takes people who can carry the work forward. At some point, this responsibility can no longer rest solely with the original team. As research moves toward new applications, new priorities emerge: talking to potential customers and suppliers, managing resources, and building relationships. These activities require time and skills that may not be available within the research team.
This is the starting point for “People matter. Results last. Skills evolve.”, the third event in Paper? Patent? People! Research that creates impact.
Bringing people with different backgrounds into a team means rethinking roles, responsibilities, and ways of working. How do you build the right team? How do team dynamics change? And what role do the people whose research started it all take on?
Join us on October 21 at 5:30 p.m. at Fondazione HIT’s headquarters (Povo – Trento) to hear from two research-based startups. Through their stories, we’ll explore how they built their teams and the connections, decisions, and expertise that helped them take their research beyond the lab.
Register here to attend.
Speakers:
- Elisa Moretti – CEO & Co-founder of YORE
Paolo Milani – Full Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Milan
What to expect
The evening starts at 5:30 p.m. with an aperitivo, offering time to meet and exchange ideas over drinks and light refreshments. At around 6:15 p.m., a discussion with the speakers will bring together experiences and perspectives. After about half an hour, the aperitivo resumes, with time to ask questions, share experiences, and explore the topics that sparked your curiosity through informal conversations.
The event is part of Paper? Patent? People! Research that creates impact, our event series designed to help researchers reflect on opportunities for research valorization.
