Public AI Challenge

An initiative to enable some public administration (PA) departments to discover and test the benefits of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve performance to optimize and predict events affecting the organization and delivery of public services and procedures, thanks to the involvement of groups of students who, in three months apply Machine Learning techniques and create predictive models based on data provided by the departments.

It is the discipline comprising the theories, methodologies and techniques that allow the development of hardwares and softwares capable of making or suggesting decisions that appear to be the result of human cognitive processes. Some of the main Artificial Intelligence techniques are Artificial Neural Networks, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Data mining and Workflow automation.

From September to December, groups of students will compete in the analysis of big amounts of data and in the design of intelligent systems and predictive models to improve performance and support decision-making processes by fostering the adoption of AI technologies in public administration. Students will be provided with support from expert mentors in the field.
