AI Challenge for students

An initiative that allows 5 companies to discover and test the benefits of Artificial Intelligence for the analysis and optimization of industrial production processes thanks to the involvement of five groups of students who, in two months, will perform advanced statistical analyses and, applying Machine Learning techniques, will create predictive models based on the data provided by the selected companies.

From September to December, groups of students will compete in the analysis of large amounts of data and in the design of intelligent systems and predictive models to improve performance and support decision-making processes by promoting the industrial innovation of companies. The activities will take place remotely and students will be provided with support from industry experts.

Taking part in the Challenge will allow you to apply data science techniques to analysis and optimization problems of industrial production processes. The Industrial AI Challenge will also represent an excellent opportunity to meet and share a project with companies with a clear innovation demand, and experts in the domain. Also, you will compete to win a prize.

The Challenge is open to all students (including PhD) of the University of Trento, as well as to those who have obtained a degree from the University within 18 months prior to the kick-off meeting of the initiative. Students of the University of Trento enrolled in the “AI for Innovation” course of the master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence Systems at DISI will have the opportunity to have the completion of the Challenge recognized as the project work for these courses. A selection committee will choose the participants and form the teams according to the criteria specified in the call for applications.
