The project aims at transfering the knowledge on the potential of digitalisation to small SMEs, with a particular focus on small SME’s in peripheral and rural areas focusing on natural fiber based value chains.

The project

The project will set up a methodology to identify and collect good practices and existing tool coming from research institutions and private enterprises creating a network of transfer institutions in the alpine area.


SMART SMEs will elaborate recommendations and policy declarations aimed at integrate this topic into national and regional policies. It will also foster cooperation between SMEs in rural areas and research institutions in urban areas.


Cofinanced by the European Parliament through the Alpine Region Preparatory Action Fund (ARPAF).
