The project
“National Technological Clusters” represent public-private partnerships where companies, universities, research institutes, public administrations and associations collaborate on research and innovation themes of common interest.
They were established through a call from the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research in 2012, which also funded pilot and development research projects related to the Cluster theme.
In particular, SmartCommunitiesTech focuses on the social challenges of modern communities: mobility and territorial security, energy efficiency and environmental sustainability, e-government and aspects related to quality of life such as education, cultural heritage And tourism, health and well-being.
Results
The Cluster policy is one of those identified by the new National Research Plan and is to play a key role as a permanent infrastructure for public and private dialogue between central administration and the territories, with the ability to jointly mobilise the industrial and R&D system and national and regional public administrations, to create joint research programs and national roadmap shared technology.
