About us

We are the meeting point for the Province of Trento’s research and innovation system.
We connect research, businesses, public administration and society to turn knowledge into opportunities for innovation in Trentino.

Home / About us

Fondazione HIT – Hub Innovazione Trentino is an instrumental body of the Autonomous Province of Trento and a research and knowledge dissemination organisation under European Union rules.

We promote collaboration and the exchange of knowledge and expertise between Trentino’s research community and its wider economy, businesses and society. We help unlock the value of the activities and results of our founding members: the University of Trento, Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Fondazione Edmund Mach and Trentino Sviluppo.

What do we do

  • We help research find new applications. We help unlock the potential of scientific results and support the creation of new research-based ventures.
  • We help businesses tackle innovation challenges. We connect them with scientific expertise across Trentino to encourage new partnerships and develop solutions together.
  • We equip researchers to turn knowledge into value. Our training programmes provide practical tools and skills to take research results beyond the lab.
  • We open up new opportunities for collaboration. Through national and international networks, we build relationships between Trentino’s research and innovation community and other organisations in the field.
  • We help Trentino prepare for the future. We study megatrends, trends and weak signals, and analyse innovation ecosystems to explore possible futures and inform today’s decisions.

Our governance ensures efficient, reliable and transparent management. HIT’s Board of Directors has five members: a President, a Vice-President and three other directors.
